Alan Corbett has 30 years’ experience of media management. In addition to being a journalist and media consultant, he has also worked as a linguist, an international marketing manager and training officer.

His linguistic background has attracted much media interest and made him the subject of many interviews in national and local media, enabling him to offer advice based on personal experience. His media experience is focused on education and training, and he is a regular commentator in the educational press, including The TES, Guardian and Independent.

His TV Interview Techniques’ training sessions, attended by principals, senior management, press and marketing officers won national acclaim. He has managed the full spectrum of media coverage of educational issues, and acted as press advisor to colleges. He was chairman and training officer for college media and marketing officers’ networks. He has a passion for promoting curriculum areas, especially modern languages, mathematics, science and music, and thereby encouraging enrolments.

Alan has been subject to national press interest recently, due to his campaign to rebuild Basra’s educational facilities, following his six-month assignment in Iraq at the height of the conflict.
